India Adopting Women’s Western Wear

The largest market research resource in the world, Research and Markets, has announced that there will be an addition to women’s fashion in India starting this year. The addition? Women’s western wear.

The addition is featured in the company’s “Women Western Wear Market Outlook 2015” report.

With increased media coverage and a growing awareness focused on fashion consciouses, the popularity of women’s western wear continues to grow. In India, where the apparel industry is swarmed with competition, there is increased pressure when new lines of clothing are introduced.

There are certain factors that continue to drive the choices made by Indian consumers. One, is the availability of disposal income. Two, is the rate of rapid growth in the country. Combined, they now have consumers searching for more name-brand clothing than ever before.

This latest research report estimates that the women’s western wear market will increase by approximately 10 percent over the next three years.

The report takes the current market size into account and predicts where the market for certain items has the potential to grow. Some of the areas covered in the report are shirts, t-shirts, trousers and denims.

Results of the study shows that tier-II and tier- III cities are expected to be introduced to these lines of products within the given time frame.
