Nominees Needed For “Heroines In Technology” Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 12th annual “Heroines in Technology” awards program. The black-tie event is scheduled to take place at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner on Friday, November 9, 2012.

The program spotlights women of technology who have made substantial contributions in their fields as well as demonstrating leadership through community service volunteer work.

The awards program is made possible through a joint effort by AFCEA NOVA and the March of Dimes.

Women can be nominated from different areas of technology including commercial, non-profit and government organizations. Nominees must work in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia areas.

The finalists and overall winners will be chosen from these categories:

 

– AFCEA International Government Heroine

– Corporate Heroine

– Individual Heroine

– Lifetime Achievement Heroine

– Rising Heroine

Women-owned and women-run businesses will also be recognized in addition to the above mentioned categories. These women will be spotlighted for their dedication to fulfilling philanthropic and community needs.

Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the needs of the March of Dimes, and the research, education and community services that they provide.
